Some accidents last only a few seconds, but their consequences can stretch on for weeks or months. One moment, everything seems to be going normally. The next, you find yourself caught up in a race against time involving appointments, tests, diagnoses, and decisions that must be made without hesitation because every passing minute can prove crucial.
When the one involved is an animal who is part of the family, fear immediately becomes intertwined with the desire to do everything possible to help. And when the consequences of an accident are numerous and complex, the treatment process can become a difficult, complicated, and demanding journey in which every bit of support can make a tangible difference.
It is from this situation that “Zoe’s Story” was created, a personal fundraising campaign on TrustMeUp by Teilar Biserova Vasileva.
The fundraiser was created to help cover the veterinary expenses needed to treat Zoe, who was seriously injured after accidentally falling from a balcony approximately 13 to 16 feet high.
A Fall That Changed Everything
About a month before the campaign was published, Zoe accidentally fell from the balcony of her home.
The impact caused several injuries. The dog suffered fractures to her femur, one front leg, and one hind leg.
Her family immediately took her to a veterinary clinic, where Zoe was examined and received the initial care she needed.
A More Complex Situation Than the Fractures Alone
The examinations revealed an even more delicate situation.
In addition to the fractures, the fall reportedly also caused problems with her lungs and spine, making a more complex course of veterinary treatment necessary.
Zoe is still receiving treatment and continues to need care, checkups, and therapies to address the consequences of the accident and continue her recovery.
Treatment and Surgery That Are Difficult to Afford Alone
The veterinary clinic provided the family with an estimate of approximately €2,850 for the necessary treatment and procedures.
At this time, the family is unable to cover the full amount on their own, which led them to ask others for support.
The fundraiser was therefore created to help cover Zoe’s veterinary expenses, allowing her to receive the necessary care without financial difficulties becoming an additional obstacle.
A Chance to Return to Normal
Despite everything she has been through, Zoe continues on her treatment journey.
That goal will require treatment, checkups, and therapies, as well as the time her body needs to gradually recover from the consequences of such a serious accident.
